Last week The Rolling Stone admitted journalistic malpractice in the University of Virginia rape case, after smearing the reputations of countless victims.
The joint legislative committee investigating the Bridgegate scandal involving New Jersey Governor Chris Christie confirmed there is no evidence to connect him to the incident. A New York Post editorial called it “The Traffic Jam that Became a Federal Case.”
Multiple newspapers improperly reported the facts in the Michael Brown case and, despite the widely discredited claims of protesters and grievance mongers, have not stopped from continuing to portray Brown as an innocent victim. Add to that the ongoing injustice to law-abiding citizens as local politicians handcuff the police department’s ability to do their job.
The gross irresponsibility of the politicians and media who speak out recklessly, and manipulate events to their ends, is the scandal.
